A brief history of how Rodesta began. Rodesta B.V. was founded with a clear mission: to deliver high-quality and reliable solutions for the pharmaceutical and food industries. From day one, our focus has been on the customer. What began as a specialist in premium couplings, fittings and valves has evolved into a leading partner in aseptic and hygienic connection technology.

Over 75 years of experience

Our knowledge and expertise in the stainless steel industry date back to the 1950s. H.A.J. Deering (pictured left) worked at H.J. van der Rijn Metalen N.V., located at Dam 21 in Amsterdam. In 1968, he joined the NEUMO-Ehrenberg Group, which at the time had acquired part of H.J. van der Rijn Metalen N.V. Mr. Deering was responsible for the procurement of stainless steel long products, including round, square and rectangular tubes, as well as solid bars. His role took him across the globe, maintaining relationships with suppliers worldwide.

Rodesta is a stockholding supplier

Rodesta B.V. is a stockholding supplier and importer of high-quality stainless steel technical components and hoses. Our core focus is on the pharmaceutical and food industries.

We supply a broad range of customers, including end users, installers, assembly contractors, maintenance and repair companies, as well as businesses in machine, tank and equipment construction.

Rodesta builds on decades of experience and craftsmanship, carried forward by two generations of the Deering family. This ongoing growth and development form the foundation of our strong and trusted reputation in the sector.

Founders: Rob Deering and Hilde Bergmann

Rob Deering, son of Deering Sr., began his career in 1976 with the NEUMO-Ehrenberg Group. He worked at Holstaal, the Dutch subsidiary located in Loosdrecht, which at the time was one of the largest privately owned manufacturers and distributors of stainless steel products, including couplings, fittings, valves, and related components.

Together with his wife Hilde, who was also employed at Damstahl (part of the NEUMO-Ehrenberg Group), Rob was given both the trust and the encouragement from the NEUMO-Ehrenberg Group to start an independent company in the Netherlands as a stockholder of stainless steel materials.

In 1984, Rob and Hilde Deering founded Rodesta — a name derived from Rob Deering Staal — laying the foundation for an independent family business with a strong focus on quality, service, and craftsmanship.

Relocation from Hilversum to Soest

When Rodesta decided to relocate from Hilversum to a larger facility at Beckeringstraat 47 in Soest, it marked an important milestone in the company’s growth. Family members, friends, and acquaintances enthusiastically lent a hand, making the move a true team effort. The new premises provided not only more space for expansion but also opportunities for further professionalization — a key step in the history of this family-owned business.

Second facility

In 2013, Rodesta took another major step forward with the acquisition of a second facility at Beckeringhstraat 45 in Soest. This strategic expansion allowed the company to broaden its product range and meet the growing demand for premium stainless steel solutions. The additional space enabled a significant increase in inventory and improved logistics efficiency, leading to greater delivery reliability and improved customer service in the pharmaceutical and food sectors. This investment marked a new phase of growth and further solidified Rodesta’s position as a specialist in aseptic and hygienic applications.

Third facility

In 2020, Rodesta expanded once again with the acquisition of a third facility at Beckeringhstraat 43 in Soest. This facility plays a central role in the storage, production and sales of hoses specially developed for the pharmaceutical and food industries. With the added capacity, Rodesta significantly enhanced its operational efficiency and flexibility. The new facility supports both logistics and production, resulting in shorter lead times and improved service for customers in hygiene-critical sectors.

Rodesta anniversary

On 1 May 1984, the Rodesta journey began. In 2024, we proudly celebrated our 40th anniversary – a significant milestone in our history. Together with the people who played an important role in Rodesta's growth, we reflected on four decades of development and collaboration. It was a festive day full of memories, warmth and connection. A DJ and live saxophonist created a vibrant musical atmosphere. During a professional live cooking BBQ, we enjoyed freshly prepared dishes. The iconic De Hoop ice cream cart and the Oyster Man with freshly shucked oysters completed the celebration. We look ahead with confidence. Rodesta is proud of what we have achieved together and grateful to everyone who contributed to this journey. Here’s to the next 40 years!

1 January 2025 – Business transfer

The next generation in the family business After 40 years, Rob Deering and Hilde Bergmann are handing over the reins to their sons, Patrick and Michiel Deering. This business transfer marks the beginning of a new chapter for Rodesta, as the next generation is entrusted with continuing the legacy of the family business. Over the past decades, Rodesta has experienced relocations, team changes, new suppliers and customers – and countless opportunities. Every challenge and every success has shaped Rodesta into the strong and reliable family business it is today. We look back with pride – and ahead with confidence. Patrick and Michiel are fully committed to continuing Rodesta’s growth and innovation, with the same passion and dedication that have defined the company since 1984. Here’s to a successful future!
